Real Equipment?
Simulations, are just that. At NCAT training is greatly enhanced with real equipment. Example cables can be disconnected to check how real networks will respond
Remote Lab's?
It's difficult to visualise and configure equipment that's invisible. At NCAT equipment is located with the delegate allowing experimentation if desired. Not centrally located in a 'remote lab' for the convenience of the training company
Class Size?
Smaller classes (max 8) ensures that each delegate receives individual attention ensuring that no one is left behind
Exam Guarantee?
Any reputable training company should provide a certification exam guarantee
Equipment Sharing?
Each delegate should have their own switch and router. Watching someone else type is not very interesting! Individual equipment also enables students to work at their own pace and make their own mistakes (an important part of learning)
Modern Equipment?
Some training companies still use old equipment which does not support the features required for the current Cisco exam objectives. Example, legacy 2500 series instead of modern ISR (Integrated Service Routers) equipment
Experienced Instructors
All Instructors should be certified and experienced, there is nothing worse than having slides read out. Instructors should also teach more advanced CCNP courses, again nothing worse than having your questions unanswered. Lastly, Instructors should also have practical field experience. These experiences not only make the training more relevant but also enable Instructors to pass on many tips not in the books
Style of training (Bootcamp vs Established)
Some training companies offer bootcamp training. This style of training compresses two or more courses into one. Due to reduced time delegates often find topics rushed, practical hands-on lab's reduced and therefore difficult to 'keep up' with the pace of the course, when compared with established training
Post Course Support?
Whilst studying for exams delegates often have questions which only come to light after the training, hence the need for 'Post Course Support'
Free CCNA Practice Lab?
Practice makes perfect, remote access to real equipment whilst studying for exams
